Optimization of Ijarah in Sharia Business: A Maqasid Sharia Perspective on Rights and Obligations

The ijarah contract is a widely used form of sharia business contract, especially in services and rentals. From the Maqasid Shariah perspective, optimizing ijarah requires balancing the rights and obligations of all parties involved. This study analyzes the implementation of ijarah contracts in sharia business and examines how Maqasid Shariah principles ensure fairness. Using a qualitative approach, including literature studies and normative analysis, the research finds that justice, transparency, and mutual benefit are essential for optimizing ijarah contracts. However, clearer regulations and supervision are needed to prevent exploitation and imbalance in these agreements. The study's impact is theoretical, practical, and social. Theoretically, it enhances the understanding of Maqasid Shariah principles in ijarah contracts, providing a foundation for further research in Islamic finance. Practically, the findings help policymakers and financial institutions create better regulations to promote fairness, which can increase trust and participation in sharia business. Socially, the study encourages ethical business practices, ensuring fair treatment for lessors and lessees. This contributes to a more just and stable economic system, aligning with Islamic principles.
