Tradition is not something sacred but has become an inseparable part of human life, so it is continuously carried out as a form of appreciation for the culture formulated by the ancestors of an area, especially the Pamona community in Poso Regency; this study focuses on analyzing existing literature. This study aims to explore the Padungku tradition from the perspective of Islamic law by studying local community tradition literature. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a Library Research approach to compile a systematic, factual, and accurate picture of the Padungku tradition and its relationship to Islamic law. The study results show that the Padungku tradition is part of 'urf, namely good habits carried out by the community by paying attention to the principles of Islamic teachings. Islam, through its concept of ‘urf (customary practice), does not prohibit the Padungku tradition because this tradition teaches the community about the importance of gratitude for blessings through charity from agricultural harvests, mutual cooperation, helping one another, strengthening social bonds, mutual respect, and tolerance. In conclusion, the Padungku tradition is a rich cultural heritage for the Pamona community in Poso Regency and is relevant to Islamic teachings. With a deep understanding of the relationship between the Padungku tradition and Islamic principles, the community and related parties can continue to strengthen and preserve this tradition as an inseparable part of the identity and life of the Pamona community in Poso Regency.
