Instrumentation Methodologies for Car Accident Prevention
Road accidents remain one of the most pressing concerns in global transportation systems. Approximately 1.35 million people die annually in road accidents globally, with many more sustaining injuries, which result in permanent disability. Cars contribute to most of these accidents. This growing issue has led to research efforts to improve road safety through technological advancements. Most of these advancements were developed through the instrumentation and measurement technologies deployed in modern vehicles. These technologies are collectively known as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). ADAS were designed to assist drivers by providing information, warnings, or automated actions to prevent accidents before they occur.
