Four-year clinical follow-up of segmental odontomaxillary dysplasia: a case report

Segmental odontomaxillary dysplasia (also known as hemimaxillofacial dysplasia) is a non-hereditary developmental disorder characterised by unilateral enlargement of the maxilla and soft tissues, accompanied by dento-osseous abnormalities. This asymptomatic condition is often misdiagnosed, suggesting a potentially higher prevalence than reported. Diagnosis necessitates a multidisciplinary approach. This clinical paper presents a case of segmental odontomaxillary dysplasia in a paediatric patient monitored over four years, discussing its clinical, radiographic and histopathological features, and multidisciplinary management.
