A low-complexity self-position determination method based on nested array
Global satellite navigation systems are commonly used in self-positioning, but its performance may be weakened or interrupted by obstacles which prevents from providing accurate positioning services. Signal source assistance is a way of self-positioning which does not depend on satellite signals. However, most of these methods require high-dimensional search with extremely high computational complexity, which is not conducive to engineering realization. To address the above problems, we propose a low-complexity self-localization method based on nested array (NA). Firstly, the angle of arrival (AOA) is initially estimated using the discrete Fourier transform (DFT). Then the phase-shift method and the least squares (LS) method are developed to obtain a closed-form solution of the exact position estimation result. Therefore, the proposed method offers a low-complexity substitute for current approaches, reaching a good trade-off between computational complexity and localization accuracy.
