Unconventional Concise Ugi Synthesis of Benzopyran Amide Derivatives as Promising Inhibitors against Leukemia, Colon Cancer, and Prostate Cancer

Nowadays cancer remains a global concern. The critical need for precise diagnosis, tailored treatment and early detection approach to enhance patient outcomes. Heterocyclic compounds have gained research as potential anticancer agents in the field of medical science. These substances alter different cellular processes and exhibit anticancer characteristics by interacting with biological molecules including proteins and DNA. Out of them, benzopyran-based heterocyclic compounds have a wide range of potential applications as anticancer agents. Different benzopyran-based compounds are used as anticancer drugs in the medicinal field. In this work, benzopyran amide derivatives 5a–5j have been synthesized via Ugi multicomponent reaction. Their anticancer activities were evaluated by using NCI-60 cell line panel. By using the potential of benzopyran amide derivatives, more accurate and more effective cancer treatments can be designed in future.
