Explicit and Implicit Ideas about Hardiness in Domestic Science and Practice

The article describes the results of an empirical research of ideas about the hardiness of the personality of practicing teachers. Explicit and implicit definitions of hardiness at the academic and practice-oriented levels are given, which illuminate the problem of personality’s passivity when faced with difficulties. Based on the studied theorise, it is hypothesised that implicit trivial ideas about hardiness do not reflect the activity of the individual necessary for psychological growth. To test the hypothesis, 56 educators were interviewed: psychologists, speech therapists, defectologists, and teachers. Data handling was carried out using the content analysis method. The results of the study indicate confirmation of the hypothesis.
