A Study on the Characteristics of Symbiotic Cities in Mori Building Company's Projects
This study analyzes Mori Building Company's urban development strategy through the Symbiotic City concept and explores directions for sustainability. Key factors—sustainable environment, mixed-use development, skyscrapers and pedestrian-friendly design, public-private balance, and local-modern coexistence—were examined across five Tokyo projects. Findings show that Mori Building integrates eco-friendly technologies, green spaces, pedestrian-centered design, and a balance between public and private spaces. Notably, skyscrapers function best with pedestrian-friendly planning, and sustainability improves with enhanced public accessibility. This study identifies key elements for Symbiotic City development and strategic directions for sustainable urban planning.
