A Comparative Study on the Short-Form Video Content Design of Domestic and International News Organizations
This research examines the evolution of news consumption in the digital era and highlights the importance of short-form video content, aiming to propose strategies for effective news production. With younger generations increasingly turning to social media for news, this study analyzed short-form videos from major domestic and international news organizations. The analysis included content from The Washington Post, BBC, CNN, JTBC, and YTN across platforms such as TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, focusing on video types, text processing, graphic elements, hook elements, and brand identity. The findings reveal that international organizations leverage diverse formats and refined design strategies, while domestic organizations rely heavily on broadcast summaries, indicating room for improvement. This paper emphasizes the need for platform-specific optimization, audience engagement strategies, and improved design in short-form content.
