Antimicrobial Activities of Chitosan and Nanochitosan Against Aerobic Infection in Wound
In this study aerobic bacteria were isolated from wound and burn samples taken from diabetic foot patient at Al-Salam Teaching Hospital. chitosan, which comes from insects and arthropods, were employed as an antibacterial agent.it binds to negatively charged bacterial cell wall, producing damage and alterations in permeability. The concentration0f 1% was discovered to be the most efficient against aerobic bacterial infections. The degree of deacetylation, which directly effects the positive charge density, has significant effect on the antibacterial activity of chitosan and its derivatives.
