La contribución del Catálogo de literatura infantil y juvenil al desarrollo de habilidades de pensamiento en estudiantes de Educación Primaria

The development of diverse thinking skills has become one of the main educational goals in recent years, as students must effectively manage the vast amounts of information encountered in daily life. For this reason, critical reading plays an essential role. The Children's and Young Adult Literature Catalog created by LECTUNIR offers a current selection of literary readings that organizes books around various socially relevant themes. This study examines, from a teaching perspective, the impact of the Children's and Young Adult Literature Catalog on the critical and divergent thinking of Primary Education students through a qualitative methodology focused on content analysis. The data collection instrument was the interview, with twenty active Primary Education teachers from the Region of Murcia (Spain) participating in the study. The results provide insight into the Catalog's influence on the development of these thinking skills from the teachers’ perspective. Thus, the need to offer an updated and thematically organized reading canon for the effective development of thinking skills is highlighted.
