Overcoming Complexities in Renal Transplantation: A Case of C3 Glomerulopathy, Antiphospholipid Syndrome, and Lithium Toxicity
Renal transplantation in patients with concurrent C3 glomerulopathy, antiphospholipid syndrome, and lithium toxicity poses significant clinical challenges. We present a unique case of a 33-year-old female with this triad of conditions, successfully managed through careful evaluation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and informed patient counseling. Despite initial setbacks and concerns about thrombotic risks, renal transplantation was ultimately performed with her father as the donor. This case underscores the importance of comprehensive pretransplant assessment, individualized risk stratification, and shared decision-making in navigating complex renal pathologies.
