New records of Erysiphe species (Ascomycota: Erysiphaceae) from Pakistan
During various surveys of powdery mildews conducted in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, four species proved to be new for Pakistan. Powdery mildew infections have been confirmed on five plant species in the genera Ulmus , Celtis , Origanum , Mirabilis and Oxalis . After morphological examination and molecular analyses, the causal agents were identified as Erysiphe kenjiana , E . kusanoi , E . nyctaginacearum and E . russellii . The taxonomic characters of each species are given, along with an ITS‐based phylogenetic analysis, notes and distribution.
