The current state and trends in the development of the market of household appliances and electronics in Russia

The paper analyzes the current state and trends in the development of the market of household appliances and electronics in Russia. The dynamics of production in monetary and physical terms, changes in average consumer prices on the market are presented. It is revealed that the modern market of household appliances and electronics is a dynamically developing sector and is influenced by government regulation, currency fluctuations, and the presence of parallel imports. The change in the composition of market participants was noted, in particular, the departure of most European foreign partners and the intensification of the activities of Russian, Chinese, Turkish and other companies. There is an increase in the revenue of Russian manufacturers with a decline in production in kind. The shift in the focus of the strategy of stores selling household appliances and electronics from geographical expansion to the development of online sales, changing trade formats and switching to hybrid sales has been revealed. It is indicated that one of the stable market trends is the constant increase in prices, where the main growth is observed in the category of washing machines, floor vacuum cleaners and embedded household appliances. Rising prices are accompanied by a decrease in the average bill and the development of the mid-price segment of household appliances and electronics. Market development trends have been identified, in particular, sales growth associated with delayed demand and adaptation of the population to currency exchange rates, the increasingly active participation of Chinese and Turkish brands, the introduction of an industry fee, the introduction of obligations to have a certain percentage of goods from Russian manufacturers on the shelves. In general, the market situation is expected to stabilize and sales of large network companies to grow.
