STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS ON CLIMATE CHANGE: AN EVALUATION USING ANOVA AND RELIABILITY MEASURES

This study evaluates the effectiveness of public awareness campaigns on climate change by analyzing their impact on students’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing a survey method with a sample of 150 students, selected through stratified random sampling based on different levels of campaign exposure (low, medium, and high). Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA, with results indicating a statistically significant difference in awareness scores among the three groups (F = 5.76, p = 0.004). Reliability and validity tests confirmed the robustness of the measurement instrument, with Cronbach’s α = 0.928 and AVE = 0.78. Findings suggest that greater exposure to awareness campaigns leads to higher climate change awareness, reinforcing the need for expanded educational initiatives. The study recommends diversified campaign strategies, behavioral impact assessments, and policy support to enhance climate literacy. These insights contribute to improving awareness efforts for environmental sustainability

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of public awareness campaigns on climate change by analyzing their impact on students’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing a survey method with a sample of 150 students, selected through stratified random sampling based on different levels of campaign exposure (low, medium, and high).
