Constructive-geographical analysis of the formation of tourist-recreational zones (using the example of the Kobleve territorial community)

This article represents one of the first comprehensive constructive-geographical studies of the territory, dedicated to exploring the features of tourist-recreational zones within the territorial community. A constructive-geographical approach to forming tourist-recreational zones of territorial communities (using the example of the Kobleve territorial community) has been developed, along with a proposed model for forming tourist-recreational zones. Mechanisms of influence of the spatial structure of functional zones on tourist-recreational activities have been identified based on the «primary» and «secondary» types of land use. To successfully implement the chosen topic, domestic and foreign experience in tourist-recreational planning and zoning of the territory has been analyzed and summarized. Special research methodologies such as SWOT analysis, analysis of competitive advantages, functional zoning, and methodologies for studying nature conservation areas have been used to determine the development opportunities of the tourist-recreational zones. Additionally, a schematic map of the tourist-recreational zones with corresponding territorial elements has been charted using ArcGIS tools. Certain thematic layers (hydrography, roads, settlements) were selected to provide a general understanding and assessment of the visual perception of the representation of tourist-recreational zones. The compiled schematic map serves as a visual tool that can assist in justifying decisions regarding the design and modification of a general plan to refine the functional zones. By combining both quantitative and qualitative indicators related to zoning assessment, metamathematical-statistical, field surveys, cartographic modeling, geographic information analysis, and sociological research, this study has successfully examined the tourist-recreational resources of the Kobleve community. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the readiness of the main ideas, concepts, and methods for implementation through their formulation in the form of methodological recommendations. These recommendations can make a significant contribution to the development of territorial communities and strengthen their position in the tourist-recreational potential of the region. In particular, the research results have been incorporated into the Recovery Plan for the Kobleve Territorial Community under development, and will also be used in the update of the Development Strategy of the Kobleve Rural Territorial Community for the period 2021-2027. The findings will be useful for the successful development of tourist-recreational activities in the analyzed community territory, allowing for an expansion of services for local businesses and, in turn, widening the choice of leisure activities for guests, while considering rational use of landscapes through the dispersion of attraction sites and exploration of other attractive areas.
