Main directions of nature use in the Lankaran-Astara economic region

In recent years, due to climate change the use of natural resources has become a global problem that has been alarming for countries all over the world. Climate change plays an important role in the environment and the use of nature, which is directly related to the natural resources mentioned in the current article for the Lankaran-Astara economic region. To facilitate the rational use of natural resources in the Lankaran-Astara economic region, it is vital to determine the main directions of efficient use of nature. Due to its natural conditions, it has unique characteristics. The humid subtropical climate, extensive forests spread on the mountain slopes, and soil resources are the natural resources of the economic region. In addition to being promising, the possibilities of using nature provide prospects of socio-economic development based on the use of local resources. The natural conditions of the Lankaran-Astara economic region, soil, climate factors, internal waters play a major role in the settlement of the population and their economic activities. The main goal is to protect the factors that are important for the survival of the living world based on the use of nature. The use of nature is directly related to the protection of the environment. When people use nature, they should also take precautions to prevent harm to nature. Sometimes, as a result of anthropogenic activity, nature, the environment, soil, water, fores resources, and atmosphere are exposed to ecological pollution, which leads to a disturbance of balance in the ecosystem. In the article, the main directions of the use of nature in the Lankaran-Astara economic region and the interaction between the factors affecting them, were investigated. According to environmental protection analyses, dynamic fluctuations are observed in the emissions of atmospheric pollutants from stationary sources in 2015-2022 in the Lankaran-Astara economic region. The natural resources available in the economic region – water, forest, soil-vegetation cover, agricultural raw materials, recreation resources, their territorial organization, and development features were investigated. The article references scientific works by various researchers presenting the analyses they have conducted. The studies are based on specific facts and existing regulatory legal documents. Information about the importance of the efficient use of nature in the socio-economic development of the population was given. In the article, the main directions of nature use in the Lankaran-Astara economic region were analyzed by the SWOT (strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) method, and suggestions were made as a result. Also the article mainly substantiates the importance of ensuring modern views on the use of nature and appropriately improving the efficient use of these resources.
