A High-Efficiency Wideband Antenna Utilizing Low-Cost Substrate Material
A high-efficiency wideband antenna operating in the Wi-Fi band centered at 2.4 GHz is proposed. Despite being constructed on the low-cost, high-loss substrate material FR-4, the antenna achieves a notable radiation efficiency of approximately 93.2% and a wide frequency bandwidth spanning from 2.11 to 2.81 GHz which is about 28.5%. These features are achieved by using an air substrate, a capacitive feed and a modified feeding cable. The proposed antenna has been fabricated and experimentally evaluated to validate the design concept.
