Investigating Angle Sensitivity of a 1-Bit Unit cell for Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces

In this paper, an investigation is conducted on the angular sensitivity of a tunable unit cell to the incidence signal. The unit cell uses a p-i-n diode to switch between two reflection states with a phase difference close to 180° over 2.4 GHz to 2.6 GHz frequency range. It is linearly polarized and is stable for oblique incidence of angle up to 45°.
