Based on such properties of a blog as an online nature, personal presentation, frequency of updates and content component, the work distinguishes between blogs and mass media, considers options for violating the right and available mechanisms for protecting the rights of bloggers. From a critical position, the study comprehends the steps taken by the legislator to keep records of bloggers in the state register, provides considerations on the practical difficulties caused by new procedures. In conclusion, conclusions are made and trends in blogosphere regulation are predicted in the coming years.

Abstract

The article studies the approaches of the Russian legislator to regulating the activities of bloggers in the period from 2014 to 2024, analyzes the problems and «lessons» of the accumulated experience, and deduces the vectors that will be followed by the development of blogosphere regulation in the near future. The author pays detailed attention to the analysis of the specifics of the concept of «blog», derives the author's definition of this object and provides arguments justifying the possibility of recognizing bloggers as special subjects of dissemination of publicly available information.
