Diversified Service Oriented Multimedia Intelligent Transmission in 6G Space-Air-Ground-Ocean Heterogeneous Network

The evolution to 6G networks is set to revolutionize global communications through the space-air-ground-ocean heterogeneous network (SAGO-HN), addressing the need for a more inclusive and intelligent connectivity fabric. This network integrates satellite, aerial, terrestrial, and oceanic components, enhancing coverage and versatility beyond the capabilities of 5G. It is crucial for overcoming terrestrial limitations, providing seamless connectivity in remote and harsh environments, and supporting diverse 6G applications like holographic videos and massive Internet of Things (loT). The SAGO-HN opens new avenues for research in intelligent perception, dynamic resource scheduling, and data-driven transmission methods. It is expected to address challenges such as information heterogeneity, complex resource management, and collaborative transmission of massive data. To this end, we introduce the diver-sified service-oriented multimedia intelligent transmission (DS-MIT) framework for SAGO-HN, which provides global coverage and high-quality, smooth media services to ubiquitous users by combining the communication, computing, storage, and control resources of network infrastructure. It features an intelligent perception of heterogeneous information, periodic collaborative multidimensional resource scheduling, and the massive data-driven intelligent transmission method. The corresponding prototype system is designed, and future work is introduced to provide guidance.
