FEATURES OF NEWTON’S LAW FOR VISCOUS FRICTION

The issues of friction in Newtonian liquids (gases) during the Couette flow are considered. Based on the theory of molecular interaction, the relations clarifying Newton’s law in the field of small tensors are obtained. In the case of relatively wide gaps and "hydrodynamically smooth" surfaces, the equations obtained by the authors of the ratio are reduced to the classical laws of Newton and Maxwell.

Abstract

The issues of friction in Newtonian liquids (gases) during the Couette flow are considered. Based on the theory of molecular interaction, the relations clarifying Newton’s law in the field of small tensors are obtained. In the case of relatively wide gaps and "hydrodynamically smooth" surfaces, the equations obtained by the authors of the ratio are reduced to the classical laws of Newton and Maxwell.
