STABILITY OF A FLAT PANEL WITH ELASTIC SUPPORTS IN A SUPERSONIC GAS FLOW
Stability of a hinged flat panel with additional elastic supports in super-sonic gas flow and under the action of a compressive force is investigated. The panel is elongated in the direction orthogonal to the flow, and the stability problem is considered as one-dimensional. The dependences of the critical force, natural frequencies, as well as the position of boundaries of the stability region on the plane of the load parameters on the number and stiffness of additional supports are investigated. The dependence of the critical flutter loads on the variation of the parameter of internal energy dissipation is analyzed. An analogue of the Ziegler’s paradox has been found, consisting in the fact that with the addition of a small internal energy dissipation, the critical aerodynamic load decreases.
