INNOVATIVE METHODS TO IMPROVE OPERATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF METAL-CUTTING TOOLS

Various methods of applying wear-resistant coatings to the working surfaces of cutting tools are considered. Various options for applying single-layer and multilayer coatings are analyzed with an assessment of their technological and economic efficiency. The results of experiments and industrial tests of cutting tools with different coatings when processing blanks of machine parts are presented.
