Modeling society’s readiness to accept convicts on the basis of humanity: methodological aspect
The article states that sociality determines the methodological bases, influences the specifics of the terminological field, the choice of methods, means and ways of conducting research, tools for describing the course and generalizing the obtained results, substantiation of the conditions for ensuring quality and the choice of ways to monitor the consequences of a particular legal study. Of course, for research in the field of humanities, the priority is the prescriptions of humanity, compliance with fundamental human rights. This determines the expediency of developing a methodology for creating and implementing a model of society’s readiness to perceive convicts on the basis of humanity in Ukraine under martial law and in the post-war period. The author identifies three stages: the first stage involves an interdisciplinary study of economic, socio-cultural, political, ideological, educational, psychological, and other components that determine the functions of social and educational work and resocialization programs in institutions for the execution of sentences and probation. The second stage involves the study and analysis of empirical data on the unambiguous understanding of the goals, means and measures of resocialization and habilitation of convicts who are preparing for release or serving a sentence not related to deprivation of liberty, in cooperation or unity of measures of the community, educational institutions, social services, probation and structures of the penitentiary system. The third stage is modeling the readiness of humanistic perception in the immediate environment of a person undergoing resocialization or in reintegration processes after release from a penal institution. A brief description of the model of social representations, social identity, and socio-humanitarian training is provided. Based on the selected systemic, complementary, competency, orthobiotic and catamnestic approaches, driving factors that influence society’s willingness to accept convicts on the basis of humanity have been identified: state penal, social and educational policies, information and communication systems, mass culture, spiritual and moral imperatives, orthobiotic quality of human life, religious postulates, historical excursions and biographies of potential mentors.
