Global factors of population victimization

Victimization is a component of the process of criminalization of society, during which criminal forms of activity spread to various social spheres, which leads to the deformation of the established value structure, failure to comply with legal norms and violation of human rights. Since the probability of becoming a victim depends on certain personal qualities of a person, his victim-dangerous behavior, as well as on the time, place and situation in which he finds himself, as well as on many other conditions that tend to victimize an individual, group or the entire population, there is a need to study these conditions as factors of victimization. This will contribute to the improvement of preventive activities to prevent crime. Victimization is generated by a specific social environment in interaction with the personal qualities of a potential victim. It is not enough to consider victimization as a certain mechanism that generates criminal behavior. It is also necessary to consider the factors that generate such behavior, namely: climate change, which the population experiences differently, depending on its social status; features of society and the state that do not properly perform their functions; wars and terrorism; famine; fraud, including on the Internet; cyberbullying; crime; corruption; ageism; migration; human trafficking, etc. At the heart of all these factors lies injustice, which is the main factor of victimization. Events, resources, institutions of socio-political and socio-economic life, and their activities can be perceived from the perspective of justice or injustice. Many contemporary hotbeds of tension in different regions of the world are not simply contradictions on economic, ethnic, religious, or some other basis, but represent a way of responding to injustice as understood by the population of a particular region. The practical significance of the study is that knowing the factors of victimization and the mechanism of their action on a person, a group of people and society as a whole, it is possible to influence the behavior of potential victims, thereby preventing crime and promoting the realization of human and civil rights and freedoms.
