Prijava, zakonska obveza za ukrepanje ob neposrednih izzivih obravnave otroka in družine v primeru zaščite pred nasiljem

A child, as the most vulnerable member of society, can easily be a victim of violent behaviour from peers and adults. Any violence that a child experiences, including those caused by their own family, can have a significant and long-term impact on psychological development, mental health, quality of interpersonal relationships, and self-fulfilment throughout life. Most children are victims of enduring violence, from neglect to psychological, physical, economic, and sexual violence. Most often, forms of violence are combined and follow each other, intertwine, and seldom stop until the worst consequences occur, resulting in permanent injuries or even death. Such cases of violence against children also exist in Slovenia, so it is crucial that, as professionals who deal with children at various levels and in different environments, we recognise the signs and consequences of violence and respond appropriately, efficiently, and ethically. In this article, we focus on understanding what violence is, raising awareness of different forms of violence, and the importance of protecting the child, the victim, the role of experts, and our obligation to act. We discuss various legal aspects, including the need for specific behaviour in the context of applications and the comprehensive protection of victims of violence.
