Design of Instant Communication Blind Cane Based on STM32
This paper aims to address the severe travel challenges faced by people with visual impairments. The research introduces an innovative system that ingeniously combines cane hardware with Internet of Things (IoT) technology. At the core of this system is the STM32F103C6T6 microcontroller, which is seamlessly integrated with an OLED display to provide clear visual feedback. A voice broadcast controller offers auditory navigation, while multiple sensors are used to detect the surrounding environment. Communication modules enable uninterrupted interaction. Key hardware modules, including the JQ6500 voice module, gyroscope posture detection module, ultrasonic control module, GSM SMS sending module, and buzzer module, work in harmony to provide comprehensive functionality. The software design includes in-depth analyses of the main program and individual module programs. Rigorous experimental testing has demonstrated the remarkable stability and accuracy of the system in obstacle detection and positioning. Looking to the future, subsequent research will focus on integrating voice recognition technology. This will not only enhance the functionality of the system but also provide better services for people with visual impairments, enabling them to explore their surroundings with greater confidence and independence.
