Design of a Portable Heart Rate and Temperature Monitoring System for the Elderly
This study introduces a portable heart rate and temperature monitoring system based on the STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller, designed to address the rising health concerns of the elderly. It tracks key physiological indicators, including heart rate, body temperature, and blood oxygen levels, using the MAX30100 sensor for non-invasive monitoring and the DS18B20 for precise temperature detection. The system provides real-time data via an LCD display and mobile app, with an alarm feature that activates when readings exceed predefined thresholds. The integration of the ESP8266 Wi-Fi module allows seamless data transmission to smartphones and cloud platforms, enabling remote access and management. Experimental results confirm the effectiveness of system, offering a practical tool for improving elderly health care through early detection and proactive monitoring.
