The primary objective was to assess differences in tourism behavior, considering arrivals, revenues, and changes in traveler preferences. A quantitative and descriptive methodological approach was employed, analyzing secondary data from official sources regarding international arrivals, balance of payments, and tourism employment. The results indicated a significant decline in international arrivals, from 1,279,705 in 2023 to 1,123,496 in 2024, alongside a reduction in tourism revenues from 1,491.3 million to 843.5 million dollars. Despite this downturn, an increase in the total number of tourism enterprises was observed, rising from 23,216 to 29,720. The discussion highlighted the urgent need for strategies that enhance security and promote memorable tourism experiences to attract visitors. In conclusion, the study emphasized the importance of implementing effective policies that address both security concerns and the quality of tourism experiences to revitalize the sector and ensure its future sustainability.
