The wave breaking criteria for a rod equation

In this paper, we investigate a rod equation containing the Camassa-Holm equation. Using the method to construct the Lyapunov functions, we obtain the wave breaking criteria of the rod equation, which involve the initial value and its derivative at a single point, and the norm H¹(mathbbR of the initial data. The work of Brandolese (2014) is further developed.
