Design and Construction of an Internet of Things-Based Aquarium Environmental Monitoring System (Water Temperature)
Monitoring water temperature in an aquarium is crucial to maintaining fish health and ecosystem balance. Inconsistent temperature changes can cause stress, weaken the immune system, and even lead to fish mortality. However, manual temperature monitoring is inefficient and requires continuous attention. Therefore, this study aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based aquarium water temperature monitoring system that can be accessed in real-time through an independent website. This system utilizes the DS18B20 sensor to measure water temperature, which is connected to a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller. The temperature data is transmitted wirelessly to a server via a WiFi connection and stored in a database. The temperature information is then displayed on the website, allowing users to monitor aquarium conditions anytime and anywhere. Testing results indicate that this system can accurately monitor aquarium water temperature and provide real-time data access convenience. With this system, aquarium owners can easily control water temperature, ensuring optimal fish health.
