Simulation of a motor vehicle braking from 120 km/h – Part 1
This paper presents an analysis based on a simulation of a vehicle braking from an initial speed of 120 km/h with 50% of the maximum braking force applied. The aim of this paper was to examine the vehicle’s selected properties while braking on various road conditions, including dry and icy surface and some other selected factors making the maneuver more demanding. Moreover, a straightforward motion during the braking was imposed on the vehicle’s model which could reflect that the vehicle was controlled by a driver in order to maintain the adopted direction of motion. Analysis of the exemplary literature has been prepared in order to specify the discussed problem. Then the model of the vehicle with the necessary assumptions was presented. Finally the obtained results was discussed. This analysis has been prepared with the use of the Adams/Car software and is only the first part because of the adopted straightforward motion of the vehicle.
