The Meaning of the “Eschatological Turn” in the Philosophy of V.S. Solovyov
The problem of relevance of the philosophical heritage of V.S. Solovyov is considered. The study of the philosophical heritage of V.S. Solovyov retains its significance to the present. As one of the promising methodological approaches to the study of the work of the famous Russian philosopher, a problematic approach is proposed that allows us to actualize the heritage of V.S. Solovyov, especially that part of it related to intellectual journalism. The analysis of the journalistic activity of Vladimir Solovyov, the subject of which remains relevant today, may be a separate area of research. The study of this layer of the work of the Russian philosopher makes it possible to understand the significance of his philosophy in the public sphere of modern Russia, as well as to trace the evolution of his philosophical views from the “socio-political” version of his eschatological historiosophy to the “ascetic”. The reason for this change is determined by the internal search for the perfection of the foundations of his own philosophy. Solovyov's transition to an ascetic eschatological historiosophy is considered as the beginning of a change in the basic ideas of his philosophy: starting his path with the creation of relatively original ideas of his philosophy of all-unity, ultimately Solovyov embarks on the path of spiritual churching. It is argued that this path has its own internal regularity and orientation, associated, despite the strong influence of Gnosticism, with Christianity, which became the internal force that ultimately “shifted” Solovyov's philosophical thinking towards churching. The birth of the philosophy of neopatristic synthesis, which considers churching as the main condition for the affirmation of objective foundations for philosophy, is considered as an example of a possible direction of thought of V.S. Solovyov after the “eschatological turn” in his philosophy.
