Missile Guidance for the Protection of High-Value Assets against Fast and Maneuvering Threats
We address the problem of intercepting fast targets with maneuvering capabilities that are comparable or superior to the interceptor. Our approach is based on an a priori known list of high-value assets that are to be protected against the intruding target. Assuming the target trajectory to lead to one of these assets constrains the domain for a possible intercept, which we exploit in the formulation of a suitable guidance law within a simplified model. We test this guidance law in simulation examples and discuss its extension to realistic scenarios.
