STUDYING THE ANTAGONISTIC PROPERTIES OF ENDOPHYTIC ACTINOMYCETES
The increasing prevalence of drug resistance in bacterial pathogens and the rising incidence of fungal infections determines the urgent need to discover new compounds capable of overcoming antimicrobial resistance. The article presents the results of isolating endophytic actinobacteria from eight plants growing in the Almaty region and assessing their antagonistic properties. 49 isolates of actinobacteria were isolated from the roots, stems and leaves of plants. The main number of endophytes was isolated from the roots - 28 isolates, 12 were isolated from the leaves, and 9 from the stems. 22 (44.9%) isolates showed activity against Staphylococcus aureus. 15 (30.6%) isolates are active against Escherichia coli. Five isolates had a broad spectrum of activity and were active simultaneously against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The antifungal activity of the isolated cultures against yeast-like (Candida albicans) and filamentous fungi (Aspergillus niger, Fusarium solani)) was determined. A total of 14 endophytic actinomycetes showed antifungal activity.
