Investigation of the effect of temperature and curing time on the optical properties of composite materials by absorption spectroscopy

Relevance. This work is devoted to the study of the effect of temperature and curing time on the optical properties of composite materials by absorption spectroscopy. It is promising to use spectrophotometers to study the optical properties of composite materials, since these devices provide reliable, reliable and highly accurate information about the object under study. The purpose of the research is defined, the task is set and the objects and method of measurements are given. The optical scheme and technical parameters of the device are given. Spectral dependences of the absorption coefficient K(λ) of «Estelite Asteria» samples of the B3B hue were obtained at different exposure times and at different temperatures. It was revealed that the exposure time (t=10 s, t=20 s) and temperature (T=0°C, T=36.5°C, T=47°C) do not affect the quality of restorations. Material and methods. Light-curing X-ray contrast composite materials were measured, designed to create restorations for cavities of all classes of hard dental tissues from Tokuyama Dental (Japan): Estelite Asteria shade B3B at temperatures: T=0°C, T=36.5°C, T=47°C and exposure time: 10 s and 20 s. A UV-3600i Plus spectrophotometer from Shimadzu (Japan) was used to conduct experimental studies. Results and discussion. The obtained optical parameters for the Estelite Asteria material of B3B shade at exposure time t=10 s, t=20 s and temperature: T=0°C, T=36.5°C, T=47°C are significant for therapeutic dentistry. Conclusion. These data show how the structure of the material (crystal lattice) changes and what happens at the atomic and molecular level.
