POTENCIAL TERAPÊUTICO DO PTP-102 NO TRATAMENTO DA LAMINITE EQUINA: UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
Equine laminitis is a serious inflammatory condition that affects the laminae of the hoof, resulting in severe pain and, in advanced cases, dislocation of the third phalanx. Conventional treatments include the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), orthopedic support and nutritional management, but are often insufficient to reverse the progression of the disease. Recently, PTP-102 has emerged as an innovative approach due to its inhibitory action on matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and inflammatory cytokines. This article aims to review the available literature on the use of PTP-102 in equine laminitis, analyzing its mechanism of action, efficacy and future perspectives.
