Retrospective analysis of clinical efficacy of Zhisou San combined with acupoint application in the treatment of bronchial asthma

Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of Zhisou San combined with acupoint application in the clinical treatment of asthma. Method: A retrospective analysis was conducted on cases of bronchial asthma treated at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xingtai Medical College from January 2023 to July 2024. After treatment, the asthma control test score (ACT), asthma quality of life score (AQLQ), lung function indicators, and adverse events were recorded. Result: After treatment, the ACT score and AQLQ score of the patients were significantly increased compared to before treatment (P<0.05), and the FEV1, FVC, and FEV1/FVC of the patients were significantly increased, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Only 2 patients had redness and swelling on the skin at the application site, which could heal on their own. Conclusion: The combination of Zhisou powder and acupoint application is helpful in improving clinical symptoms, improving the quality of life, enhancing lung function, and has good safety, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
