A Method for Estimating the State of Visual Acuity Loss in Diabetic Patients for Implementation in A Medical Interview System

In this study, we are developing and evaluating a medical interview system for diabetic patients with impaired vision using a tablet-type terminal. We have implemented a general questionnaire and confirmed that it can be answered by either visual or auditory information, but we are aiming to implement a function to estimate the state of vision loss based on the respondent's facial movements so that the patient can receive assistance from staff at the appropriate time during the interview. This paper reports on an experiment to measure facial movements while using a medical interview system and the accuracy of estimating vision loss using the measured data.
