Adolescence Attention Enhancement based on Generative Music Foundation Model

Adolescence is a critical period of cognitive development in a person's life, and concentration is a key cognitive skill required for learning and academic success. Certain music rhythms can synchronize brain waves and promote attention. Regular exposure to music that improves attention can lead to long-term changes in brain function, thereby improving overall cognitive ability. Focused attention can help better encode and retrieve information, which is essential for the development of memory. This paper proposes a technique for using generative foundation model to generate personal music for adolescents to improve concentration and indirectly improve academic performance. The proposed model is trained on music generator to generate the required music style and fine-tuned on a dataset related to music that enhances attention to better adapt to the preferences and needs of the target age group. The experiment was conducted on 30 adolescents, and the memory and comprehension abilities of adolescents after using this research method were compared by comparing the number of English words remembered before and after listening to the generated music. When the generated music matches the teenagers’ characteristics (such as gender and age), it can improve the number of English words remembered and the accuracy of spelling. The preliminary experimental results show that this method can provide support for teenagers with attention deficit to improve their academic performance.
