Abstract

The scientific article is devoted to a deep understanding of the structural elements that form the mechanism for assessing sustainable regional development. At the heart of the scientific study of the sustainability of regional development, the authors clarified the conceptual framework within the framework of its assessment mechanism. The scientific article analyzes the current methods, identifies the positive and negative characteristics of each of the applied methods for assessing the sustainability of regional development. At the same time, the perspective of methods for achieving goals and solving certain scientific research tasks is noted. However, in the course of this work, the authors determined that generally accepted methods are not studied in detail at the level of the regional economy, with the identification of its features, technological structure and solved problems of an economic, environmental and political nature, as well as the technological possibilities of regional management and socialization of the region are not taken into account. The paper provides an approbation of the conceptual provisions of the developed methodology for the sustainability of the region, as the basis for the preservation and development of the necessary possible parameters of quality of life, that is, the stability of the functioning of the regional socio-economic system. In addition, the sustainability of the region includes a balance not only in terms of areas, but also in the rational use of resource potential. The subject of the study is a mechanism for assessing sustainable regional development based on generalized and aggregated data from the region. A special feature of using the integral indicator is its versatility in assessing the sustainability of development at both the federal, regional, municipal, and also, importantly, at the enterprise level, that is, it covers all levels of the management system, this will ensure the scale of coverage of the implementation of state programs to improve the sustainability of territories.
