Anticorrosive electronic fluorinated liquid as fire extinguishing agent for lithium-ion batteries safety
Perfluorohexanone (Novec 1230) is expected to be used as a special fire extinguishing agent for lithium-ion batteries. However, Novec 1230 contains trace moisture and HF, which will cause secondary damage to electrical. In this work, 1,1,2,2,3,3,4-heptafluorocyclopentane (HFC) was used as the cooperative fire extinguishing medium of Novec 1230, and a MOF with amino group (NH2-MIL-101-Ti) was used as the additive to remove the moisture and HF in the fire extinguishing agent. Through the actual lithium-ion battery fire extinguishing, cooling and insulation experiments, it is found that Novec 1230/HFC-MOF can extinguish the open fire of lithium-ion battery in 12s, reduce the temperature from $300{ }^{\circ} \text{C}$ to $150{ }^{\circ} \text{C}$ in 60s, and the electrical equipment can operate stably for a long time in the fire extinguishing agent immersion. The anti-corrosion fire extinguishing agent developed in this work can solve the fire safety problems in large-scale application of lithium-ion batteries.
