Analysis of physical fitness factors between professional and university foil fencers

This study aims to analyze the differences in physical fitness factors between professional and university foil fencing athletes to provide foundational data for designing training programs tailored to university athletes. The results indicate no significant differences in body composition, grip strength, or flexibility between professional and university athletes. However, professional athletes demonstrated significantly higher agility and mean anaerobic power compared to university athletes. Additionally, certain metrics of knee isokinetic strength were observed to be higher in the university group. These findings suggest the need for training programs tailored to the specific demands of foil fencing, enabling university athletes to advance to professional levels and enhance their competitive readiness for international match.
