THE SUBJECT THEORY OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

After the changes in the field of public administration in Russia, this discipline has achieved remarkable results, but research in the field of public administration has also revealed a crisis of legitimacy, such as blurred disciplinary boundaries and poor awareness of problems. These “crises” essentially affect the production of knowledge, especially theoretical production, which makes the discipline “unique” and distinguishes it from other disciplines. That is, does public administration produce knowledge/theory as an independent discipline? According to the general criteria for evaluating academic research, what is the “quality” of this knowledge/theory? Has this helped to advance or actually advanced the administrative practice of Russia? The reason why we think about public administration research in terms of knowledge production/theory is that it is related to whether we can continue to conduct qualitative research that is different from other disciplines and then remain “us” under the mirror of disciplinary change.
