Abstract

One of the primary objectives in modern medicine is maintaining women's health and fertility during their reproductive years. A critical component of this effort is the prevention of unplanned pregnancies Medical and social counseling aimed at preventing unintended pregnancies and abortions remains a cornerstone of obstetric and gynecological practice. When selecting contraceptives, both efficacy and ease of use are crucial factors to ensure adherence and satisfaction. In recent years, Russia has witnessed significant progress in pharmaceutical production, including the development of hormonal medications. This article highlights a newly reproduced hormonal drug — an intravaginal releasing system containing etonogestrel and ethinyl estradiol. The article delves into the drug's mechanism of action, underscoring its key benefits in terms of convenience and user compliance. Additionally, the findings of a bioequivalence study are presented, demonstrating that this reproduced drug is comparable to the original KEYWORDS: extended hormonal contraception, hormonal releasing systems, vaginal hormonal ring, vaginal therapeutic system, ethinyl estradiol, etonogestrel, bioequivalence.
