Evaluation of Energy Efficiency of a custom developed Physically Unclonable Function(PUF) for IoT Security
The Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) has gathered attention from academia and industry as a possible substitute for the more typical computational-based method of applying conventional encryption to protect Internet of Things (IoT) devices. With its minimal design complexity and confidentiality preservation, PUF is a potential lightweight security solution that uses the IC manufacturing fluctuation process to enhance IoT security. We used a custom-designed PUF system which offers lower computing resources and costs, compared to other PUF systems. This PUF system is helpful develop a low-cost device for IoT security.
