Hybrid Renewable Energy Source Based Shunt Active Power Filter To Analyze the Power Quality in A Distribution System
The progressive rise of integration techniques in the modern power systems invites some issues in the systems such as stability, reliability and power quality. This paper presents power quality analysis of such a system and its solution using a Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF), the proposed SAPF is fed through a hybrid Renewable Energy Source (RES) based Photovoltaic (PV) and Wind Energy (WE) hybrid system. Implementation of Proportional Integral (PI) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) controller combined techniques is used to regulate the DC link voltage across the capacitor of the voltage source inverter to obtain the accurate reference signal with synchronous reference method. Switching action is carried out by comparing the actual load signal to the reference signal. MATLAB Simulink platform is used for the proposed work and the effectiveness of different operating condition of the system is verified through simulation.
