Realization of speech acts of request in modern Russian in comparison with Chinese

The aim of the study is to identify the peculiarities of speech acts of request in the Russian language in comparison with Chinese to determine their differences and similarities. The article deals with the realization of speech acts of request in Russian in comparison with Chinese. The expression of request, as one of the most common forms of communication in everyday life, inevitably has its linguistic originality and differences, which reflect the characteristic understanding of request in each culture. Awareness of this specificity can significantly improve intercultural interaction and reduce language barriers. The scientific novelty of this paper lies in the fact that speech acts of request are considered in it as a single communicative-pragmatic complex (the concept is proposed by L. B. Karpenko), from these positions the communicative situations of request implementation and the linguistic specificity of their expression in modern Russian and Chinese are analyzed. The results show that politeness is valued in both linguocultures, but the differences in cultural norms and traditions are manifested in the fact that Russian allows a wide variation of request expression, while Chinese emphasizes the certainty and clarity of request expression.
