Formation of Crews of Multi-Seat Military Aircraft on the Basis of Taking into Account Individual Psychological Characteristics that Ensure the Psychological Compatibility of their Members

The work is aimed at studying the individual psychological characteristics that ensure the psychological compatibility of crew members of multi-seat military aircraft. The study of aviation accidents and their prerequisites suggests that there are reasons related to the improper interaction of crew members, which in turn was caused by not taking into account the individual psychological characteristics of the flight crew, ensuring their psychological compatibility. The study involved 52 aviators aged 23 to 47 years (M = 31.31 ± 6.5). The following methods were used to solve experimental research problems and collect empirical information: Modular sociotest by A.J. Antsupov; Multifactorial personality questionnaire (16PF) by R. Kettell; Personality Questionnaire (EPI) by G. Eysenck; Motivational profile by S. Richie — P. Martin; W. Thomas — R. Kilmann's methodology for identifying leading behavior in a conflict situation. The methods of mathematical statistics were used: correlation, regression, cluster analysis, nonparametric Mann—Whitney U test. The results of the study showed that the best compatibility in the crews of multi-seat aircraft is provided by people with a moderate degree of expressivity, flexibility and a high level of self-control, low levels of neuroticism and tension, and a high level of motivation for social contacts and relationships. The similarity of motivation to work affects the level of compatibility in couples. Motivation to achieve and diversity in activities negatively affects the compatibility of pilots. Conclusion: when forming crews, it is necessary to take into account the value orientations and motives of professional activity.
